Innovating Audio Technology: AccelOne’s Custom Software for High-End Audio Devices

AccelOne developed groundbreaking software to enable virtual configuration of high-end audio equipment from both desktop and mobile devices.

Business Requirement:

The client, an award-winning audio technology company, needed a cross-platform software solution that would allow users to configure audio devices via desktop and mobile apps, with wireless control using Bluetooth.

Business Solution:

AccelOne created a dashboard-based application that allowed users to configure audio devices through USB for desktop use and via Bluetooth for mobile control. The application was designed to work with a specific product line of high-end audio equipment.

  • A desktop application that connects via USB to target hardware equipment

  • Custom firmware for audio equipment

  • A Bluetooth-enabled mobile application for wireless control of hardware equipment

Technical Solution:

The desktop app was built using C# and .NET, while the mobile app was developed using Unity 5.0 for cross-platform functionality on iOS and Android. The solution also included custom firmware for the audio equipment and Bluetooth integration.

In order to make this vision a reality, AccelOne was hired to provide remote nearshore resources in the highly specialized areas of electrical and software engineering. Our resources would be assigned to exclusively build the software platform as well as perform as an integrated member of the client’s existing electrical engineering team.

Challenges:

Developing a seamless, user-friendly interface to manage the complex logics of high-end audio devices was a significant challenge, especially in ensuring smooth communication between hardware and software over USB and Bluetooth.

Approach:

AccelOne divided the project into two phases: first, creating the desktop application, followed by the mobile app. The team worked closely with the client’s electrical engineering team to ensure compatibility with the hardware.

Phase 1 would result in the final completed desktop application for Windows, and Phase 2 would result in the mobile application for iOS and Android, based in Unity.

We configured a team of two senior-level nearshore developers to work on this project, which included a Senior Audio Engineer & Software Developer and a Senior Unity 3D Developer.

Results:

The software allowed users to configure their audio devices easily, providing a positive impact on the client’s business by offering a unique feature in the consumer audio market. The Bluetooth functionality was a groundbreaking addition to the industry.

The delivery of both phases of the application was successful, as they were completed on time, within budget, and accomplished all of the performance requirements.

AccelOne’s custom audio software provided an innovative solution that enhanced user experience and helped the client gain a competitive edge in the high-end audio market.
